YMCA Camps Greider and Silver Creek have been serving the kids of the Willamette Valley and beyond for decades. We are committed to assuring kids have a safe, happy, and memorable summer by building strong minds, bodies and spirit.
All camp staff are interviewed thoroughly and required to provide references that are authenticated by the director. In addition, a criminal background check is performed on each applicant before being hired. All staff are also required to be CPR and First Aid certified and participate in a pre-camp training week. The training week includes topics on conflict resolution, camper characteristics, bee-sting training, group building exercises, values related activities as well as active participation in all the great activities we offer to campers.
Expect excellence when it comes to Camp Silver Creek and Camp Greider’s staff team. Our staff team is what sets our camp apart from the rest and makes your campers experience a phenomenal one. Our staff serves as excellent mentors and role models who focus on the needs of campers both in the cabins and activity areas. With an 80%+ retention rate, education, experience, training and good character are all components of the selection criteria.
Camp is not only for summer! The Salem Family YMCA offers a variety of day camps throughout the year, including Winter day camp and Spring Break day camp.
