YMCA Membership Benefits
Wellness the Y Way
The YMCA philosophy is one of total wellness where no one is left behind. Get in shape and stay in shape through one-on-one attention, customized workouts, measurable goals, and most importantly, building relationships.
- The YMCA will provide a free fitness coach who will be with you every step of the way throughout your membership.
- We’ll help you set specific, measurable and attainable wellness goals.
- We’ll keep you motivated and challenged through our programs, facilities and dedicated staff.
- We’ll connect you with other members because building relationships is just as important for total wellness as aerobics, weights, or healthy eating habits.
ChildWatch
Child Watch is safe, clean and a fun place for kids to be while parents are working out or taking other children to YMCA classes. Child Watch is free for YMCA Family members and available on a drop-in basis for up to two hours (non-members or individuals can pay a small fee to leave their children in Child Watch while siblings are in classes). Children ages 6 weeks to 10 years old are welcome during Child Watch hours, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to Noon on Saturday (closed Sunday).
Child Watch is staffed by dedicated volunteers – many of whom are also parents of kids involved in YMCA programs! Volunteers must pass a criminal background check and a thorough orientation/training.
Parents provide snacks, diapers, and wipes for their own children. Child Watch is sensitive to the health issues, so lice checks are performed on every child, and nuts or nut products are not allowed in the facility. For more information or to inquire about volunteering, call Marni at 503-399-2799.
