The MI-YMCA has been serving our summer aquatics needs to our community since the early 1990′s in collaboration with the City of Independence. Our pool is staffed by friendly, certified lifeguards and experienced instructors that teach lessons using the YMCA of the USA Swim Lesson Guidelines–The standard in the industry. In addition, our pool is home to a wide variety of aqua fitness classes, leisure and open swim times, lap swimming, family swim times and party rentals.
The Monmouth-Independence YMCA operates the Independence City pool through the summer months starting when school lets out and closes near the end of August. There are several collaborations with different groups throughout the summer where hundreds of kids learn how to swim (such as every 3rd grader in Central School District 13J.)
