Job Description: Branch Director, Monmouth-Independence YMCA
Under the direction of the CEO, the Branch Director will provide leadership and be responsible for all programming and administrative functions of a program centered, store front operation with a budget of approximately $225,000. The Branch Director will also provide leadership to a volunteer Board of Advisors. This position is responsible for supporting the over association initiatives through branch operations. An ideal candidate will be personable, organized and adept at both administration and programming. The Monmouth-Independence YMCA serves both the City if Monmouth and the City of Independence. It is a key community asset and valued by those it serves. Future program and facility expansion are possibilities. The Monmouth-Independence YMCA is positioned well for future growth and supported by many dedicated volunteers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four year degree from an accredited college or university.
- Prior experience in hands on delivery of programs.
- Five plus years of proven experience in supervising, inspiring and motivating volunteers and staff.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
- Successful experience of developing and growing programs.
- Successful experience of raising money in face to face financial development.
- Successful track record of excelling in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.
- Passion, enthusiasm and support for mission and values of the YMCA.

Job Title: Swim Team Coach
FLSA Type: Non-Exempt Reports to: Aquatics Director
Department: Aquatics
GENERAL FUNCTION
Swim Team Coach is responsible for the development and execution of the year round competitive & novice swim team program at the Salem Family YMCA. These duties will include, but are not limited to, the planning and implementing of seasonal, yearly and long term goals that optimize the competitive performance of the swim team.
ENTRY REQUIRMENTS AND TRAINING
- Applicant must have a strong background in competitive swimming, both as an athlete and as a coach.
- Applicant must have coach’s certifications, including but not limited to, USA Coaching Certification, Lifeguarding Certification, member of ASCA, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, First Aid and CPRPR.
- Must be able to create a balanced budget.
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
- Listen First Training.* *within 30 days of employment or first available training.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
- Develop and supervise training plans and practice schedules for the participants that will optimize the participant’s potential.
- Conduct membership promotion and recruitment.
- Supervision and development of the assistant swim team coach and other staff involved with swim team.
- Promote, cultivate and train volunteers.
- Responsible for working with the Aquatics Director in developing and planning all things involved with swim team.
- Scheduling, planning, hosting and staffing swim meets.
- Help with the development of a YMCA Novice Swim Program.
- Address complaints and resolving problems.
- Work with other YMCA professionals to utilize their facilities.
Team Activity
- Supervising team schedules, take daily attendance and maintain a current roster.
- Instructing workouts, coaching swim meets.
- Submit meet results to the Aquatics Director on a timely basis
- Staying in communications with other swim teams about upcoming meets in our area.
- Stay at facility until all swimmers leave or until parents have taken back responsibility of their child.
- Communicate regularly with the parents.
- Plan and execute regular Partners with Youth fundraising activities for the team.
- Communicate regularly about all concerns, safety issues, team activities, meets and suggestions with the Aquatics Director.
Participant/Membership Engagement
- Acknowledges everyone who comes in and out of the aquatics area.
- Learns participants (parents & child’s) and member’s names and uses them frequently.
- Introduces participants/members to other participants/members and staff.
- Involves participants/members in other YMCA activities and volunteer opportunities.
- Promotes the YMCA mission and philosophy in all interactions.
WORKING CONDITIONS

POSITION TITLE: HR/Payroll Accounts Payable Specialist
SUPERVISOR: Business Manager
HOURS & BENEFITS: 35-40 Hours Per Week, Monday through Friday $12.00/hour
GENERAL FUNCTION: Oversees HR systems and employee records to ensure accuracy to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization. Perform all responsibilities as related to semi-monthly payroll process. Maintain training and knowledge to assure that the Y is in compliance with State & Federal Wage and Hour Laws. Input accounts payable.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Prefer two years of human resource experience, payroll processing experience and accounts payable experience. Knowledge of computerized payroll system preferred, skilled in use of Microsoft Word and Excel, plus accurate ten-key skills. Paychex experience a plus. Must be detail oriented and have sufficient knowledge of human resource/payroll practices. This position requires the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:
- Correlate and verify electronic time and labor online, as well as hard copy timecards.
- Entry into Paychex payroll system.
- Prepare all accompanying reports as required.
- Set up and maintain all personnel files.
- Maintain vacation/sick leave benefit status reports for staff.
- Maintain tax, garnishment and other deduction worksheets as needed. Prepare documents as required.
- Maintain monthly contact with State for reporting labor statistics and Child Support Enforcement data.
- Process and transmit Workers Compensation claims. Prepare Employer’s Payroll Reports for Workers Compensation.
- Perform employment, wage, and unemployment verification reports.
- Input all invoices into Daxko Accounting.
- Monitor payables and verify statements from vendors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
