Wellness Orientation

The Y’s philosophy of health and wellness involves the whole person and encourages all people to get active. No one is left behind. Get in shape and stay in shape through one-on-one attention, customized workouts, measurable goals, and most importantly, building relationships.

  • The Y provides a fitness coach who will be a resource to you to help you define and achieve your goals. Meet with your personal fitness coach twice for free to talk about goals, commitments and proper use of the equipment.
  • We’ll keep you motivated and challenged through our programs, facilities and dedicated staff.
  • We’ll help you learn to use the MobileFit system which is FREE with your membership.
  • We’ll connect you with other members because building relationships is just as important for total wellness as aerobics, weights, or healthy eating habits.

ChildWatch

Child Watch is safe, clean and a fun place for kids to be while parents are working out or taking other children to Y classes. Child Watch is free for Y Family members and available on a drop-in basis for up to two hours (non-members or individuals can pay a small fee to leave their children in Child Watch while siblings are in classes). Children ages 6 weeks to 10 years old are welcome during Child Watch hours, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:00 a.m. to Noon on Saturday (closed Sunday).

Child Watch is staffed by dedicated staff and volunteers – many of whom are also parents of kids involved in YMCA programs! Volunteers and staff must pass a criminal background check and a thorough orientation/training.

Parents provide snacks, diapers, and wipes for their own children. Child Watch is sensitive to the health issues, so lice checks are performed on every child, and nuts or nut products are not allowed in the facility. For more information or to inquire about volunteering, call 503-399-2799.
